Echeveria rundellii is native to the rocky slopes of central Mexico, thriving on calcareous substrates. It exhibits a cespitose growth with compact rosettes and is a polycarpic species. Its leaf pigmentation intensifies under water stress, unusual among the genus for its tolerance to alkaline soils. Leaves spatulate, 3-5 cm long, arranged in a compact rosette with slightly undulated margins. Green-grey coloration with pinkish hues during winter and high light exposure.
Exposure to full morning sun and afternoon shade. Reduced watering from autumn to spring, substrate containing at least 70% draining mineral components. Minimum temperature 5°C; susceptible to prolonged water stagnation.
